Does all this suggest us anything useful...? Yes, this confirms that 192.168.1.1 is the address of your router. An IP address typically identifies a single device. If you are looking to talk to the USB device attached to the router, there's no point talking to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.2 - that's like saying "I couldn't find my laptop, but I walked into my neighbour's house and they had a laptop so it must be the right one" -- For more information, please reread.
