Ciao, anni fa (mi sa più di 10) avevo fatto anch'io qualche prova con le vecchie versioni dei client di posta/usenet, e ricordo anch'io di aver avuto qualche difficoltà nell'invio. Da quanto ricordo, se il problema è solo nell'invio è possibile che sia un problema lato SMTP: se hai inserito quello del tuo account di posta, può essere che quest'ultimo richieda un protocollo di sicurezza non supportato dal client (p.e., TLS). Se hai usato un server SMTP locale, è possibile che il tuo ISP non ti permetta l'invio di posta per evitare di essere una sorgente di spam, o anche in questo caso un problema di protocolli di sicurezza.
