Are there other differences which indicate they come from a different program - a mobile, webmail, or something. When viewed in html do the jp ones include any fancy glyphs - emoticons for example - which night have prompted the email program to switch to a multi-byte encoding? Do they include copy-pasted quotes from other sources which might include them? Somewhere in the sending program there must be a predilection for Japanese that needs changing, perhaps to utf8. You could probably stop TB from changing the font for this character set - I mentioned config settings in that other thread. -- (Remove numerics from email address)
