The Unionist thing is in the way. Main way out of Northern Ireland besides air, is the Larne-Stranraer ferry, where checks could easily be made, but that means, the Unionists would need passports there, to travel to another part of their own country. Too many have been killed. Things are moving too fast, people need time to adjust. Main thing at the moment is that the main transit of a british outlook to the EU is Ireland.
