I don't like all of the DRM nonsense that comes with Windows games.
Admittedly, Steam is also DRM but it's not nearly as intrusive as the
usual crap that comes with big studio non-Steam titles.
I also don't appreciate game makers thinking they have free run
of my system. A game needs to be able to work and play well with
others (just like multi-gig file transfers).

Fixating on DirectX is really living in the past. The proliferation of
non-PC platforms means that there are fewer game developers out there
married to DirectX or anything else thats Windows only. Macs are part of that
but not the only part.
