Given a big enough population, there will always be a readily
available supply of suitable "narratives" if you bother to go looking.
Also, you have to consider the fact that "gun control" is one of the
pet projects of liberals. So they are always interested in pushing it
or exploiting any suitable news item.
So it's no great coincidence that they were interested in pushing this
issue just prior to some tragedy. They're always on the lookout anyways.
Once something like this is the flavor of the month, there's a period
in time where similar stuff comes like a deluge and then it dies down again
as the media gets distracted by something else.
