I used to use a wireless mouse and keyboard at work for a few years. I always turned them off before I went home for the day. I didn't have to replace the batteries that often, I'd say about once a year if I remember correctly. But I switches back to wired keyboards and mice so I don't have to remember to turn them off and it's one less thing I have to do.
