Encryption:

Read a PAIR of lines from input. If one is shorter, pad it with 'x's. If 
the lines are an odd number of characters long, add an 'x' to each.

You now have your input:

ABCDEFGHIJKL
MNOPQRSTUVWx

Think of it as squares of 2x2 characters:

AB CD EF GH IJ KL
MN OP QR ST UV Wx

Rotate each square 90 deg clockwise:
