Please email Georges and request backport of 4.0.4 to jessie. See: https://packages.debian.org/jessie-backports/kicad http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/k/kicad/kicad_4.0.2+dfsg1-2~bpo8+1-1_changelog PPA are for Ubuntu. Using an official jessie-backports will likely be the most reliable solution.
