The four filter rules that make this newsgroup useful and readable are:

 From is: jollyroger@pobox.com ("Jolly Roger")
 From is: g.kreme@gmail.com.dontsendmecopies ("Lewis")
 From contains: arlen ("Arlen Holder")
 From is: nospam@nospam.invalid ("nospam")

This is for Thunderbird, I'm sure on Forte Agent, and whatever other 
newsreaders are being used, the rules would be similar.

These rules cover the four posters that post the vast majority of the 
incorrect information, and are the most obnoxious. Sometimes "Arlen's" 
nym shifting requires additional rules. I have some other rules that are 
still active but I don't think have any effect any more.

There was a newsgroup reader that downloaded not just the headers, but 
the message content as well, so you could filter out posts that were 
responses to the trolls' posts, but without filtering out the responder 
completely. But it took a lot of time to download the messages and not 
just the headers.
