Agreed.
And source files are evolving things usually. It's very rare they never 
evolve, headers included. So if you put include guards right from the 
start, there's no need to ask yourself whether you should add them later 
on, every time you modify your header file.

I don't really consider that "pollution". I consider them part of header 
files, just like header comments at the top of the file to describe it, 
and I generally use template files to create new ones so everything is 
already there just ready to be filled.
