Back in 1964 I had a summer job delivering and installing TVs for a shop in Phoenix. The customer bought a sensitive new console TV and a 'deep fringe' outdoor antenna installation for what might have been the closest house to the transmitters on South Mountain. The set was unusable, totally overloaded!
