At least without cookies and scripts that makes Gopher fully usable
without tracking. Of course it's perfectly possible to make a
website without all of that as well, Gopher just forces you into it.

I use mobile broadband and get a new IP address every time the modem
is reset or automatically disconnects after a short while of
inactivity - handy when a website decides to block my IP for some
reason. That said, my particular ISP/telco does hand out rather
distinctive IP addresses (1.*), which combined with User-Agent fields
saying "Dillo/[version]" probably make my browsing fairly distinctive
to any non-automated tracking (certainly I can spot myself in logs).
I choose to keep the unusual User-Agent because I hope that web
developers might just spot it and say: "hey look someone's trying to
use this web browser that our site works really badly with, let's try
to improve compatibility with it". Yeah I know, dream on.
