On Mon, 04 Feb 2019 15:06:16 +0000, Richard Kettlewell vomited this
verbiage that I considered to be worthy of my attention for one of a
variety of possible reasons:

They have to do more -- a LOT more -- than just talk.

The developers at Gentoo, for example, have created eudev as a
response to the systemd appropriation of udev. This represents
a significant step towards rejecting the hegemony of systemd.

Fortunately, I still utilize static device nodes and require
neither udev nor eudev, but I recognize the extreme importance
of having this alternative.

However, with systemd looming, I always wonder just how much
longer I will be able to choose static device nodes.
