Why? Mathematics is just a language. You are asking to start with plain
English first and then translate into math. That’s not the way bilingual
people talk. They will start with the language best suited to express it.
You are not owed an explanation in the only language you know. In this
subject, you are expected to be bilingual with mathematics being one of
them. Frustrated by that?

Yes, scientists do. Note that they use two languages to describe, switching
from one to the other fluidly. You can’t do that, note.
