Next time use an app which did *not* come with your phone and which is *not* a Google (i.e. written by Google) app and see how (un)lucky you get! There are zillions of *non*-Google apps. If you use any of those, you're <excrements> out of luck, *unless* those apps *themselves* offer backup/restore functionality or/and you make backup by other means.
