Yeah they are all re-badged ubuntu.
There's probably something in /etc/alternatives (look at where the
links point, of course this is reconfigurable)
readlink /etc/alternatives/x-session-manager
might be a good start.
Or you could look for comments (or entries for physical media) at the head of /etc/apt/sources-list
