While the patent office will usually reject perpetual motion patents, they
will reject little else out of hand.

Here's a perpetual motion machine patented in 2012 that calls itself
something else:

Like most kooks you believe that because something is patented it is real
and the patent office actually tests the claims of a patent to ensure
they are true.
