What more could one desire other than a "rectangle on the screen?"

I have never seen a circular video.  I believe that all videos
are rectangular.

But ffmpeg also has lots and lots of capture options, and ultimately
both ffmpeg and OBS use X to get the data so there is no difference.
In fact, OBS is just a frontend to ffmpeg, i.e. a crutch.
