LINQ is used in place of ordinary SQL to construct database queries. Using LINQ, I can construct a two-table join statement with only a little trouble. With ordinary SQL, a three-table join, or more, is NO problem. Way to go Microsoft! Keep those lackeys irredeemably hooked! Now, some will now jump into the fray with a defense of LINQ. After all ,it does provide compile-time, as opposed to run-time syntax checking. But LINQ and .NET are nothing more than an insidious trap. By the way, at my last count, the .NET suite contains at least EIGHT separate and distinct sets of classes for database access, each with its own universe of methods and properties. Is that bloated confusion or what? Give me Linux, C, and a SQL driver any day.
