Oh sh!t!  I got problems.  These are the common non-solid types.

I was wondering why the LED indicators were fading so quickly
when I power down.  They used to glow for 10 seconds but now
they're quenched within 2 seconds.

The LEDs are placed across the power rails to indicate that the
circuit is energized.  If they fade quickly after power off it
probably means that the power supply caps are not holding charge. 

Fortunately, they will be easy to cut out and re-solder in new
ones -- solid this time.
