Fair enough. Fwiw, to let me start making some more C code, can you 
point me to a good C based HMAC lib? I a looking for a lib that allows 
me to take a digest as a series of bytes. I want to convert the 
following Python code of mine to C:

I can create my own HMAC impl in C, but wanted to know if you know of a 
good established one.

Fwiw, here is one I found:

The digest should be at least around 16 bytes or preferably little larger.

The only thing I need is a nice bug free HMAC that allows me to get at 
the digests, for C in order to implement my experimental cipher in C.
