Which is essentially true for much of grade school level education as
it needs to be simplified for the age level. 

First introduction to math: 1+1=2
Add complexity of number base: 1+1=10

I doubt most school children would be able to parse "relevant to the
expression of their perception".

And again, I highly doubt English school children are speaking much
of anything other than English.
