Good thinking No, John, that's not what I said at all. Let me repeat myself succinctly so maybe your pot-addled head will absorb it this time: 1. If atoms were like galaxies, you'd be in trouble because your thesis that galaxies have both matter and antimatter in them, and then atoms would ALSO have matter and antimatter in them, and then you'd see the characteristic gamma rays from BOTH atoms and galaxies, and you DON'T. 2. Atoms are not like galaxies because their behavior is dominated by a very strong electromagnetic interaction which is 43 orders of magnitude larger than gravity in that case. (The math is easy.) In galaxies, where their is very little net charge floating around, gravity dominates and the little bit of magnetic field is 20 orders of magnitude SMALLER than the gravitational influence. (Again the math is easy.) This is why atoms bounce off each other and galaxies do not -- they are DIFFERENT and there's a REASON they're different. -- Odd Bodkin -- maker of fine toys, tools, tables
