I don't think it is a rainbow, it's a snowbow. The arc is produced by the angle of the sun, yourself and the nature of the prism producing the "bow". With a rainbow the sun is behind you and the arc is produced as part of a circle around the axis extending from the sun through you toward the rainbow. In this case I believe the sun was just above the picture and the two bows were parts of circles around the sun. Clearly the prismatic effect in the ice crystals was different from what happens in rain drops. -- Rick C
