Usually, the coding is in fact just a small part of the whole effort - all the design of the gameplay, the storyline, the graphics, the music, the algorithms for interaction, etc., is inherently cross-platform. The code structure and design is also mostly cross-platform. Some parts (the graphics and the music) need adapted to suit the limitations of the different target platforms. The final coding in assembly would be done by hand for each target.
