It will take time.  Whether it matters in practice depends on how large the
memory is, how frequently you ALLOT, whether it occurs at run-time or
compile-time etc.  Some reasons why you might want it zeroed:
- you expect it
- you won't see garbage when DUMPing
- turnkeyed executables compress better
