IME, folks like to put their names in/on things:
Computer name: "Bob's Computer"
"This software licensed to John Doe"
Copyright (automatically stamped in photos taken): "Alfred E Newman"
etc.
And, then *forget* that they have done this -- or, that they even were
ASKED/offered to do this.
I use descriptive identifiers in place of names. E.g., a workstation
used to create animations might be called "Animation Workstation"
and the primary user "Director". The software licensed on it would
carry the same sorts of names.
So, if I fail to sanitize something before publication, the "information"
that is leaked is effectively meaningless.
[Note that this doesn't make me anonymous -- as someone/spooks *could* trace
the publications back to that machine. That's not the goal of these efforts.]

Or, *know* what's expected to be *in* the file/document -- AND, make
a conscious decision to accept that (or not).
[This itself isn't a guarantee that thee isn't information concealed in
the document steganographically]
What usually happens is people are naive/ignorant about "stuff they can't
see" and end up disclosing things they wish they hadn't (hard to take
back information once it's been set free!)
