These are the ones that occur after #if and #elif.

The standard 6.10p1 says these are constant-expressions. But the latter 
(A.2.1) can apparently include casts, ++, sizeof, ., ->, [] and  and all 
the rest.

6.6 says little about constant expressions except that it rules out ++ 
and -- (assignment and so on are ruled out by the grammar).

Where are the restrictions for what are allowed in #if expressions?

All I can see are numerous instances of 'constant expressions suitable 
for use in #if preprocessing directives', without it defining 
'suitable'. I can guess what it means, but I would rather not guess.
