That's also known as the "von Neumann Bottleneck."

What is needed is fast memory that can be accessed within one
CPU cycle.  So far, that is only possible with "cache" RAM.
But ALL RAM should be cache RAM, then we could implement the
"Harvard architecture" and have much faster computing.
