You have to install 3rd-party software which is in no repos to get a less than 100% rate. On my system (which has *lots* of development tools) there is *one* package which is not managed by package management: AndroidStudio from Google They have not yet put it into their repo, unlike for example Google-Earth, which is also third-party, but still managed by package-management of my distro by simply including their repo. Windows has nothing which comes even close, and OSX has nothing at all which resembles package-management
