I never claimed that Thunderbird couldn't add the functionality through a plug-in, I claimed that Evolution had it built-in which was an advantage for me. Evolution uses whatever key is imported into Seahorse (or a similar key manager) and has built-in GnuPG and Google Calendar support whereas Thunderbird requires you to _add_ the functionality through a plug-in. The fact that Thunderbird ends up with its own key manager and only supports GnuPG if you add Enigmail makes it less interesting to me than an application which already has it because the latter ends up implementing it better. I still often have to press CTRL-Enter twice to post a message to a newsgroup because the plug-in keeps telling me that "encryption failed" even if I didn't encrypt. Hell, it just happened again now "Send operation aborted.
