Same here with a basic USB-MIDI interface.

The Scarlett 2i4, both its MIDI interface and its (very nice) audio 
interface, is plug-and-play with Debian. I haven't tried it with a Pi 
but I'd be surprised if it didn't work (though the Pi would probably 
struggle with duplex audio).
