What do you mean by an "official opinion?"

To my knowledge, there is no political hegemony in science similar
to, for example, Lysenkism in the former Soviet Union. All ideas
are permitted as long as they adhere to the established experimental
evidence.

It seems to be already shut down by virtue of the activity of
hordes of mal-educated and psychotic armchair speculators.

All "out of date" arguments are entirely specious.

Usenet is still quite viable. It's only drawback is a lack
of promotion and a decentralized nature that doesn't mesh with
the contemporary preference (i.e. web forums, Facebook, etc.).

What is "speech?"

In a scientific context, speech is the articulation of rational
and objective arguments that, again, are purely informed by the
experimental evidence.

In all honesty, can sci.physics be currently considered a bastion
of free speech?

Please get real.

Or please go away and die.
