Is wind power doing its job?

We can download the data for installed global wind capacity and make a
model to see what the atm CO2 is like in terms of installed capacity
and -- of course -- global population.

The data comes from

Since CO2 "accumulates" in the atm it's appropriate in this case to
look at cumulative wind capacity.

And we see from the model that the ceoff is NEGATIVE with a small
stderr.

I.e. installed cum wind capacity between -.15467 and -.05911 95% CI.

So it seems while each billion of human population drives atm CO2
upward by 29 ppm above a "baseline mark" of 190 ppm (which seems to
nicely plop right around the expected low point that would be allow
current plantlife to sustain itself), wind gigawatts are tending to
replace fossil power and push the atm CO2 lower.

According to this model the installed capacity as at 2015 has resulted
in the atm CO2 being around 2.8 ppm lower than it would have otherwise
been over the interval 2000-2015.  Since atm CO2 has risen around ~27
ppm over that time it seems installed wind capacity worldwide is
responsible for a 10% reduction in atm CO2 already.
