Really?  No wonder Guru Paul said I wasn't miserly enough.
Guess I need to try harder than I already do.    :-)

Okay, so now I need to educate myself about
how to set miserly thresholds in that ACPI table (?) for
keyboard backlight so that it will stay OFF.
