In addition to the Univac 9300's standard 600-cpm card reader,
we had a 1001, a freestanding unit which looked something like
an IBM 2540 except that it had two card readers instead of a
reader and a punch.  Both feeds could run simultaneously, each
reading 1000 cards per minute.  We fed a _lot_ of cards.  :-)
