I heartily disagree with Leedskalnin, agree that he is quite the kook,
and I note that Ed published several books himself and so must not
consider them as useless as you are interpreting his words to mean.

It is true that SOME books written 25 years ago have PORTIONS of the
book that are now wrong. MOST books, however, do not have any portions
that are now wrong. Moreover, even those books that do have those
portions that need updating are not WHOLLY wrong; they are only wrong in
portion.

Thus books have value ON THE WHOLE, even though ALL of our knowledge
base is provisional and it is understood by all that future research may
change some aspects of it. To say that unless a book is guaranteed to be
WHOLLY CORRECT for ALL TIME -- that is, containing absolute truth --
then it is worthless, well, that's a useless position as far as I'm
concerned. There is NO source of information anywhere that can carry
that guarantee, but that's not a reason to reject it on the whole.
