The answer is that it has NOTHING to do with Linux advocacy.

The answer is because you are a dumb-fuck asshole.

But does is this search repetitive?  I would assume that
it is.

Therefore do a preliminary sampling do obtain a series
of intervals with upper/lower bounds.

Then each subsequent search can be done using a binary
tree on a vastly reduced range.

GNU/Linux has superior tools for this purpose,  as it does
for everything else.
