I mentioned a week or three back the fun of getting Windows 10 working on my machine. While a somewhat unpleasant experience, once past it, Win10 seems stable enough. And it has a quirk, er, perk or two which I kinda like. Like it's virtual desktops. Not quite up to full KDE standards, but hey, it's about 8 million times better than not having them at all. By and large, the system's fairly responsive. It gets a bit wonky if something is hammering the drive; it seems to give the drive, rather than the foreground task, priority. A minor annoyance but just that: annoyance, and minor. In the grand scheme of things, while Windows will never be my OS of choice, and this one apparently has some serious issues with privacy and the like, from a _usability_ and _user experience_ perspective, I find Win10 to be a significant step forward. Pity that they had to go and put all the privacy invasions^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hissues into it, though. Compared to, say, KDE+Dolphin, I'd say the Windows desktop was "sexier", but the KDE desktop was "smarter". As to the underlying OS, well... it's still Windows under the hood, so however pretty the paint job, one can expect the engine needs a bit of work. :)
