In fact due to the increase in blogging, twitter and social media, the Linux community has become even more rabid and zealot like. So the article is even more accurate today than 4 years ago. It's interesting that you Linux kooks have no problems dragging up Apple or Microsoft issues from 20 years ago but a 4 year old article causes you to start whining. Sometimes the truth is painful. Deal with it or start improving Linux and it's reputation and become part of the solution instead of being a part of the problem. You need to ask yourself why the masses ignore free Linux.
