You have skipped the first step
of proofing to yourself it should happen.
You just think it should, what is not sufficient.

What you have proven is  your misunderstanding
of physics of gases,
making funny statements about the convection.

Thermal collisions of air molecules are much more energetic
than collisions via macro air movement. Random speed of molecules
is frequently 5-20times higher than organized speed
of air masses within tornadoes.

Yet not even thermal collisions produce plasma.

Ions in air are produced by radioactive decay of radon
and collisions with showers of secondary particles
of Solar wind and cosmic rays.
