That would make the period of the resultant *shorter* than the periods of the constituents, if there are constituents with different frequencies. For instance, a frequency of 2 Hz and a frequency of 3 Hz will have periods of 1/2 and 1/3 second respectively. According to your ko0ky math, the resultant has a period of 1/lcm(2,3) = 1/6 second, which is obvious bullshit. (In fact the period of the resultant is 1/gcd, not 1/lcm, and in this case that's 1.)
