I don't use Chrome often enough that I'd notice, but between Firefox and Thunderbird, it's pretty common for 80% of memory to be in use, it's not brilliant that apps just gobble memory like that, but it's better that Windows allows them to use the memory you've bought, rather than let it sit unused ... How many tabs do you have open? I you close Chrome and re-open it how low does memory usage start at, and long does it take to get back to 75% ?
