I did some more testing with Thumbnails disabled, then used Nautilus to 
copy about 1.2gigs of data, it still crashed.

Tried Xfe and it worked very well, smooth and without a problem.



Tried Xfe with thumbnails enabled and it did not work so hot.


Bottom line is to use Xfe with thumbnails off when moving or copying data

and to use Nautilus with thumbnails enable for simply viewing
