I need to build PHP from source and freeze it so my junk will remain 
consistently junky without perturbations from future releases.  In 
building the cli version I want to include the ncurses extension but how 
to do that is unclear to me.  Does anyone here have that kind of 
experience or do I need to look elsewhere?  TIA.
