Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks. > Sounds like root has ownership of the usb drive. I'm not familiar with MX15 and do not know what file manager MX15 uses. Thus I am asking if you can open your file manager then right click on the usb drive>properties>permissions, look at who owns the drive, user or root. If the permissions are for root and you want them to be user then you will need to open your file manager as root then right click on the usb drive click on properties>permissions and you will be able to change the permissions to user. Also in your file manager if you right click on the file you want to copy is there a copy to choice? Easier then copy paste. If you want to leave root as owner then you will have to transfer files as root each time which will make root owner of the file on the usb drive. Then if you want to copy it back to your hard drive you will have to change it's permission back to user to be able to use it. -- Caver1
