Philosophically-speaking, Debian is my favourite but I never had much like for how it operates outside of the command-line. It's great to run servers with but as a desktop operating system, I always preferred Fedora and Ubuntu. Debian's developers never thought much of providing a decent desktop experience from what I could tell. Of course, considering that the components used in Debian end up being used by its derivatives, perhaps all distributions are going to behave in that manner shortly? -- A.M
