You should have an entry in your PHP error log telling you what the
problem is.  The log file location is system dependent; if you don't
know where it is, create a file with only the following one liner:

<?php phpinfo();?>

and load it into your browser.  Look for the line

error_log=xxxx

The xxxx will be where your error log is.
