When you keep the equations with all the variables appearing as you did before, but you change the meaning of those variables, then you are no longer talking about the Galilean transformations. Just like if you read F=ma, but said F means "fracture rate" and m means "malleability" and a means "attack angle", then you're no longer talking about Newton's second law, where the variables have very specific meanings. Just like if I wrote 1+12=4, but told you that 12 means "1 and 2 together" so that that's the same as 3, and so the equation is now right. I think any sensible person would understand that if equations turn out to be wrong in the sense that they don't reflect measurements, then it's not the right thing to do to change the meaning of the variables in the equation until the equation is right. > -- Odd Bodkin --- maker of fine toys, tools, tables
